Providing/Taking Notes

I made notes about the Butterfly Life Cycle on Evernote, but did not want to make them public. I sent Professor Hamre a link so that you can view them. Hopefully it works :)

Reflection #1: How I Plan to Teach

Post a reflection about the differences between how you plan to teach with how you were taught.

I plan to teach more interactively than how I was taught. I was taught with a teacher-directed method. My knowledge was gained by what teachers lectured on or what was in my textbook. I plan to use a more interactive method of teaching. Yes, there is a place for teacher-directed learning, but students are much more interested when they can be involved and take part in the production of learning. Group activities and projects can be a great way for students to collaborate and work together to learn and develop their knowledge.

I will utilize technology to enhance my students learning. For example, I can use a blog for langauge arts and writing. Students could post their work, comment on others' work, and edit by using a blog. I could show videos from YouTube that pertain to a science or history lesson to make students more excited to learn. By showing them a video clip it would make learning more fun and entertaining. I can have students create powerpoints, brochures, or videos about a certain topic that connects to a subject they are learning. Overall, I want to make learning more interactive for students so that they will be excited to come to class and learn each day
